Prior to 1977, the Cookie Cupboard had retail stores in the Arcade, Westlake Mall, Severance Mall and several other area malls as well as locations in Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

In 1977 after years of struggling to find the highest quality of bakery - cookies, muffins, brownies - Mid American Ventures, Inc., was formed to produce the products the stores would sell. The recipes were created by a renowned bakery expert who then joined Mid American on staff creating new recipes, products and speciality lines.

Demand for the products became so strong by other companies - grocery stores, caterers, restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and so many more that the retail Cookie Cupboard stores were sold and the focus was then on manufacturing the Cookie Cupboard line of gourmet doughs.

Since 1994 the Cookie Cupboard has experienced tremendous growth while at the same time preserving the hands on superior quality achieved in those early years. The Cookie Cupboard does not mass produce anything. We also do not use a "base dough". Who wants a peanut butter cookie that tastes just like a chocolate chip cookie? Not us. Not ever. Each recipe has been individually hand crafted to be the best. Our batch weights vary greatly to produce only the finest, freshest cookies, muffins and brownies available. We are locally owned and operated company and when possible use local suppliers. You can taste the difference in our products. Although our products are available through a variety of local and regional distributors, we still provide the direct service that many of our clients have grown to appreciate.
